No hub, no gateway — just Wi-Fi
Most “smart” recessed lights need a separate bridge or gateway to work. The DS8 US and DS4 US don’t. Every fixture ships with an integrated Smart LED Driver Powered by Shelly, so it connects directly to the home’s Wi-Fi network. Pair it in seconds, group rooms, schedule scenes, and control it from the Shelly app, Amazon Alexa or Google Home. For installers, that means one less product to buy, wire and explain — and one less thing that can fail on a service call.
Every shade of white, flicker-free
Both fixtures are tunable white across the full 2200 K to 6500 K range — from candle-warm to crisp daylight — with a warm-dim curve that mimics a traditional halogen as you dim down. Colour rendering is CRI 95 (Ra 95), so skin tones, timber and paint colours look true. Output is 600 lumens at just 8 watts, and dimming is flicker-free all the way down to 1%, which matters on camera and for anyone sensitive to flicker.
Built — and certified — for US installations
This isn’t a European fixture with an adapter bolted on. The DS8 US and DS4 US are engineered for 110–130 VAC / 60 Hz and carry a full ETL Listing to UL 1598 and CSA C22.2 No. 250.0, so they’re approved for the US and Canada straight out of the box. Each unit includes a steel junction box with knockouts, and push-in lever connectors let you daisy-chain line, neutral and ground from fixture to fixture — one whip, whole rooms wired fast. Fewer connections, faster rough-in, cleaner inspections.
Two sizes, one smart platform
The two models share the same LED, the same smart driver and the same specifications — they differ only in size and trim:
- HiluX DS8 US — the compact option, with a Ø 3-9/16″ (90 mm) face and a Ø78–83 mm cut-out. Ideal for tighter ceiling layouts, hallways and detail lighting.
- HiluX DS4 US — built to the 4-inch US recessed-can standard, with a Ø 4-5/7″ (120 mm) face and a Ø106 mm cut-out. A straight, familiar retrofit for existing 4″ cans.
Because they’re identical in light quality and control, you can mix both sizes across a single project and the light stays consistent from room to room — no colour shift, no odd fixture that dims differently.
