With this adapter an older Philips Hue LightStrip V3 can be connected to a Hue LightStrip V4 from the 2020 generation, or the other way round. It bridges the two connector standards so the two generations can share one run.
Philips changed the connector between the generations, which normally means an existing V3 strip cannot be extended with V4 tape, and a V3 offcut cannot be reused on a newer installation. This adapter removes that barrier: the strip already owned stays in service instead of being thrown out when the lighting is extended or moved.
It works in both directions. With a V4 controller and a length of V3 strip left over from an earlier project, the adapter puts that strip back to work rather than requiring new tape for a short run under a cabinet or behind a headboard — and equally, a V3 installation can be extended with current V4 tape.
At 35 mm the adapter is short enough to disappear into the join between the two strips instead of adding a visible loop of cable, while still leaving a little slack to ease the connection into place. Finished in white. Rated IP20 for indoor use in dry locations.
Supplied as a single piece. Plug it in between the two connectors — no tools, no cutting and no soldering.
